On the night of November 16-17, Russia launched a massive offensive against Ukraine, hitting civilian and energy infrastructures with 120 cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as 90 drones.
At least 8 people were killed and around 20 were injured. For the first time in months, missiles and drones reached Transcarpathia, a region near Poland and Hungary, triggering the mobilization of the Polish air forces.
This marks the tenth major attack on Ukraine’s energy grid this year. The strikes targeted cities while people were sleeping, causing power outages in three regions. According to Kyiv, Moscow has already destroyed 50% of the country’s energy capacity, intensifying a terror strategy aimed at plunging Ukraine into cold and darkness. Vladimir Putin once again shows his utter disregard for human life.
It is crucial to allow Ukraine to defend itself and to provide the necessary resources. By protecting its territory, Ukraine is also defending the European continent. It resists with courage, but it needs more support than ever.
