As part of the Babylon Villeneuve project, we are delighted to invite you to a screening of the documentary “Starting Over” at Cinéma Espace Saint-Michel in the 5th arrondissement of Paris!
🎞️ Starting Over is a series of nine documentaries created by the renowned collective Babylon’13, shedding light on the reconstruction of Ukrainian communities affected by Russia’s war of aggression.
Through these films, you will witness the moving stories of towns like Maryinka, Kharkiv, Kamenka, and Nikopol. The documentaries showcase residents striving to rebuild their daily lives: repairing homes destroyed by Russian attacks, clearing debris, installing new windows and roofs, or cleaning up courtyards with their grandchildren after bombings. Some return to live in dangerous areas where mines are still present, while others find creative ways to cope with trauma, such as wounded soldiers painting or drawing graffiti on damaged walls.
Despite the challenges, the Ukrainian people refuse to give in. They rebuild their lives with courage and solidarity, standing resilient against the pain and destruction caused by Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine.
