We are delighted to invite you, as part of the Babylon Villeneuve project, to a special screening of the documentary War Diary, directed by Roman Liubyi from the Ukrainian collective Babylon’13.
🪖🤳 This film takes us to the heart of the war in Ukraine through videos captured between 2014 and 2015 by Ukrainian soldiers and volunteers, directly from their phones. It offers a raw, unfiltered look at a conflict where reality often defies comprehension. Through these images, we discover a world governed by strange, almost surreal laws, far removed from our everyday lives.
📹 The protagonists in these videos live extraordinary lives: they laugh, cry, and document moments of existence, all while knowing that any moment could be their last. In this space where everything feels different—behaviors, relationships, even humor—the camera becomes a privileged witness to their survival.
