In March 2024, the Mayor of Paris’ 18th Arrondissement Traveled to Kyiv to Sign a Partnership with Podil District to Strengthen Their Cooperation

On March 28, Eric Lejoindre, Mayor of the 18th arrondissement of Paris, signed a declaration of intent with the Podil District during his visit to Kyiv. This signing formalizes the relationship initiated in the spring of 2023, which notably allowed young Ukrainians to visit Paris during the All Saints’ holiday, offering them a brief respite from the war.

The signed declaration outlines plans to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in administration, economy, culture, tourism, education, and environmental fields.

During his visit to Kyiv, Eric Lejoindre toured Saint Andrew’s Descent, its church, and its artist-filled streets reminiscent of Montmartre, accompanied by the head of the Podil District. He also met with children and their families who had been hosted in Paris.
