Stand With Ukraine attended the Cities and Regions Summit on April 19-20, held in Kyiv and Ukraine’s war-affected regions, to strengthen ties between international, particularly European, and Ukrainian municipalities. This event, organized by the Ukrainian government, aimed to solidify partnerships to support Ukraine’s reconstruction and contribute more broadly to the European integration of Ukrainian society at all levels.
These local-level exchanges align with the core mission of Stand With Ukraine’s Lights for Winter campaign, which has been fostering closer ties between French and Ukrainian municipalities since last winter. France was represented at the summit by the regions of Île-de-France, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, and Hauts-de-France. The event also saw Paris being awarded the title of “City of Rescue” in recognition of its longstanding commitment to Ukraine.
Now more than ever, Stand With Ukraine continues its work of building connections between France and Ukraine, supporting Ukraine on its path toward Europe, and ensuring France’s contribution to the global effort to rebuild Ukraine.
