This morning, the Ukrainian capital was hit by a heavy missile attack, causing loss of life and considerable damage. Hundreds of homes, schools, hospitals and several diplomatic missions were damaged. Among them, those of Albania, Argentina, the Palestinian Authority, North Macedonia, Portugal and Montenegro. One of the oldest Catholic churches in the capital was also hit.
“There are fires on the roofs of buildings, cars are also burning. The main heating pipeline in the Holosiiv district has also been damaged,” Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.
These deliberate attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure are an unacceptable escalation. International support must be stepped up to break this cycle of impunity. These crimes must not go unanswered.
