As part of the Mayors’ Congress, Yuriy Bova, Mayor of Trostyanets, visited Gennevilliers to mark a new chapter in the partnership already established between the two communities. Gennevilliers, as a partner city, has previously hosted two groups of Ukrainian children.
Welcomed by Patrice Leclerc, Mayor of Gennevilliers, and local officials, Yuriy Bova discussed actions already undertaken, including the youth stays organized for teenagers from Trostyanets. These initiatives have fostered strong ties between the two communities, offering Ukrainian children a peaceful parenthesis and opportunities for cultural exchange in France.
The visit served to strengthen the foundations of this partnership by exploring new opportunities for collaboration. Topics discussed included educational and cultural projects as well as initiatives to support the reconstruction of Trostyanets, a city heavily impacted by the war.
Patrice Leclerc praised the resilience of Trostyanets’s residents and reaffirmed Gennevilliers’s commitment to continuing and expanding its support. In turn, Yuriy Bova expressed deep gratitude for the warm welcome given to the children of his community and emphasized the importance of these exchanges in strengthening ties between France and Ukraine.
