As part of the Babylon Villeneuve project, we are pleased to invite you to a screening of the documentary “The Kilometer”, directed by the prestigious Ukrainian collective Babylon’13, at the Cinéma Espace Saint-Michel in the 5th arrondissement of Paris!
Synopsis: In February 2022, Roman Liubyi is working as a videographer for a drama production in London. When the Russian army invades the Kyiv region, he decides to return to his family in Irpin, which quickly becomes a battlefield.
While thousands of civilians, including his wife, parents, and 9-year-old daughter, take shelter in basements, cut off from the rest of the country by the Russian invaders, Roman joins an aerial reconnaissance unit tasked with mapping enemy movements and helping those living under occupation, with no possibility of evacuation.
With his drone, Roman manages to get closer to his home and loved ones, even though a world separates them in reality.
