On the occasion of the International Summit of Cities and Regions held in Kyiv on April 19-20, 2023, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded the city of Paris the title of "Rescuer City." Tuesday, March 28, 2023, marked a historic day for memory and international justice. The French National Assembly overwhelmingly adopted (168 votes to 2) a resolution recognizing the Holodomor, the great famine of 1932–1933 in Ukraine, as genocide. On December 26th, a small group of elite Ukrainian commandos lost their lives crossing the Russian border. These missions behind enemy lines are extraordinarily dangerous.
