As we step into a new year, Stand With Ukraine sends you its best wishes for 2025.

Sadly, the Russian war of aggression has offered no reprieve from its atrocities. The start of 2025 is already overshadowed by fear and terror.

On the night of December 31 to January 1, Russia launched a massive drone attack, resulting in two deaths and six injuries. A residential building, an administrative structure, nine cars, and a tram were damaged. These barbaric acts, following Vladimir Putin’s recent threats promising further destruction, reflect the brutality and cruelty of Russian forces.

The only positive news at the end of this year: the exchange of 189 Ukrainian prisoners for Russian prisoners. Among them, soldiers, National Guard members, border guards, sailors, and civilians regained their freedom, bringing an intensely emotional moment to their families.

However, these exchanges highlight not only Russia’s continued violations of the Geneva Convention, including the inhumane treatment of prisoners of war, but also the pain of countless families who will never see their loved ones again—imprisoned or killed—while far too many prisoners remain in Russian hands.

In 2025, it is essential to strengthen international support for Ukraine and continue developing its defense capabilities. We hope that this new year will bring an end to Russia’s war of aggression, accountability for war crimes, and the establishment of a just and lasting peace.

For nearly three years, Stand With Ukraine, with your support and solidarity, has tirelessly worked to assist Ukraine and its people. We wish for 2025 to be a year of peace and security for all Ukrainians.
