On Christmas eve, Ukrainians were once again the victims of a barbaric attack. Yesterday, in Kryvyi Rih, a Russian ballistic missile struck a residential building, killing one person and injuring 17 others, including a 16-year-old girl.
Putin, true to his strategy of terror, deliberately chose to strike during the holiday season, destroying homes without the slightest regard for human life or the truce this time of year usually inspires.
“As the rest of the world celebrates Christmas, Ukrainians continue to endure relentless Russian attacks,” reminded Dmytro Lubinets, Ukraine’s Human Rights Commissioner.
For the second time in its recent history, Ukraine is celebrating Christmas on December 25th, aligning with Western traditions to assert its break from Russian influence. Yet, the horror persists: today, over 70 missiles and a hundred explosive drones have struck Ukraine. “Their targets are our energy infrastructure,” said President Volodymyr Zelensky. In Kharkiv, half a million households are now without electricity, heating, and drinking water.
