Today, we celebrate Ukraine’s Constitution Day!

June 28, 1996, marked the adoption of Ukraine’s fundamental law, the Constitution. As the country’s most essential state document, it enshrines the fundamental rights, sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

This day symbolizes Ukrainian sovereignty and the national identity of the Ukrainian people. Both at home and abroad, the state, the army, and the people of Ukraine fight for these values across the globe.

This national holiday reaffirms Ukraine as a democratic state founded on the rule of law and celebrates the existence of this remarkable country.

Thanks to the courage, perseverance, and dedication of Ukrainians and the support of the global community, comfort, safety, and order continue to take root in Ukraine today.

This day holds profound significance in consolidating the national identity of Ukrainians and safeguarding the democratic and legal security of Ukraine, especially during times of war. It also ensures global recognition of our fight for the territorial integrity of our state.

Our Constitution protects our homeland and grants rights to us, the citizens, who have been forced to seek refuge abroad, enduring unbearable sorrow.

On this Constitution Day, every Ukrainian family, every citizen, dreams of a future free from the ravages of war, in a protected, sovereign, and independent Ukraine.

I fervently hope we will soon restore sovereignty over the territories occupied by Russian invaders, ensuring a peaceful life in Ukraine, shielded from imperialist threats.

I wish Ukrainian children a harmonious life and Ukrainian youth the opportunity to build their future in Ukraine with confidence in the unwavering stability of our state.

I also send my best wishes to all Ukrainians who have lost the ability to stay in their homes and who have had to leave everything behind to start anew in other countries.

In these challenging times, it is vital that we maintain solidarity and mutual care, which bring much-needed comfort.

Ukrainians who have taken refuge in France express their heartfelt gratitude to the French people, whose willingness to help is profoundly strong during this time of war against Ukraine. We are deeply thankful for their support.

Slava Ukraini!
