🇺🇦 Ukraine has passed a law prohibiting religious activities tied to #Russia, specifically targeting the Orthodox Church affiliated with #Moscow.
This decision, approved by a majority in the Ukrainian Parliament, aims to dismantle the #Kremlin’s influence and sever ties with the aggressor.
The Moscow-affiliated clergy has been accused of collaborating with Russian services and promoting pro-Russian narratives that absolve Russia of responsibility for its decade-long aggression against Ukraine.
Clergy members affected by this law will have nine months to break their ties with Russia. President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to sign the law into effect shortly, a step considered a formality.
