On February 28, Le Havre hosted an exceptional day dedicated to Franco-Ukrainian friendship, marking a new milestone in the partnership between Le Havre and Mariupol, a project that Stand With Ukraine has supported since its inception in 2023.This bond between Le Havre and Mariupol was not created overnight. In 2023, the first Mariupol delegation was welcomed in Le Havre as part of the MistoMatch initiative, led by Stand With Ukraine to connect Ukrainian and French cities through concrete cooperation projects. Since then, we have worked hand in hand with both municipalities, supported by the Embassy of Ukraine in France, to structure a sustainable and ambitious partnership.

On February 28, at the Théâtre de la Ville du Havre, the Friendship Day between Le Havre and Mariupol concluded with a profoundly moving event: the concert of the "Renaissance" Chamber Orchestra of Mariupol.
This was more than just a musical performance. It was a powerful affirmation of Ukrainian culture and a symbol of renewal. Mariupol—a martyred city, but also a city of the future—continues to exist through its artists, its citizens, and those in exile. Stand With Ukraine was present in Le Havre for the Friendship Day between Le Havre and Mariupol, an event dedicated to solidarity and concrete initiatives for post-war reconstruction. This gathering was marked by the signing of a friendship protocol between the mayors of both cities, further strengthening their mutual commitment to cooperation and support for Ukraine.
