In the spirit of cultural exchange and solidarity between the town of Semenivka (Zhytomyr Oblast, Ukraine) and Sailly-lez-Lannoy (Nord department, France), another initiative was launched: the discovery of Ukrainian cuisine in Sailly-lez-Lannoy. Residents were invited to enjoy Ukrainian specialties during a warm and friendly event. The funds raised during the occasion were donated to support the schoolchildren of Semenivka, contributing to educational and local reconstruction projects. To further strengthen this bond, Ukrainian students received heartfelt messages and touching drawings from French children.
As part of this solidarity effort, the children of Semenivka also received warm clothing to help them face the winter, demonstrating that the mobilization of Sailly-lez-Lannoy goes beyond symbolic gestures and addresses concrete needs.
This twinning partnership holds great promise for cooperation between Semenivka and Sailly-lez-Lannoy, with solidarity, cultural, and educational projects that strengthen the bond between the two communities.
